Doug Baum

Doug Baum has owned and operated Texas Camel Corps since 1997. Business activities include guided camel treks in the Big Bend region of Texas and guided tours in Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, India, and Kenya.

Baum is also an award-winning documentary filmmaker and he and his family’s camels have been featured in Texas Monthly, Texas Highways, ARAMCO World magazine, and National Geographic Adventure. Baum speaks Arabic and Spanish, has consulted on tourism projects in Mexico and Saudi Arabia, and has presented academic papers at international conferences in Morocco, Saudi Arabia, the UK, and Kazakhstan.

Rumor has it that in another life Doug played drums for some guy named Trace Adkins, can play a mean guitar and if you’re lucky will provide some pretty good entertainment with the locals while on our tours.
